At-Home Workouts

Sometimes it just isn't possible to leave the house for your workout, right?  Maybe it's too hot/cold to go for a jog outside, or perhaps it just isn't the best idea to leave your baby home alone while you go to the gym.  Whatever the reason may be, you just can't always get away. And if you're like me, and don't have the awesome Wii Fit, you have to try and find other ways to get your workout in at home.

One option that I've enjoyed lately is exercise DVDs, specifically those made by The Biggest Loser.  I check them out from the local library, and I've checked the one in St. George and know they're available there too!  Here are a few things I like about these DVDs, in no particular order:
  1. They're free (if you don't like them, nothing lost...)
  2. My library has 4 or 5 different ones to choose from (I get bored with things pretty quickly)
  3. All (I think) of the different DVDs are split into increments of different lengths (some are 20 min, some are 10, etc), so you can do whatever you have the time for
  4. The DVDs also include different difficulty levels, so you start slow and build up. You can also go back to the basics on a day where you're just feeling tired!
  5. You can do these workouts whenever and wherever
  6. They're good workouts, but not ridiculously hard
Next time you're at the library, try checking out a Biggest Loser exercise DVD (heads up - you might have to request one online ahead of time). Have fun with it, and let me know what you think!
